My best case scenario for moving the two Saabs was we’d be finished by 7:30. My “worst case” scenario was we’d be finished by 9:30. I told Ttyymmnn to go home at 12:30. And he seemed like he was willing to stay, but I insisted I had wasted more than enough of his time. I got home at 2am.
I am really tired and need to be up at 6am, so that’s all I’m writing about this for now.

My favorite part of this photo is the Saab mudflaps. I hope your mission was a success.

YES! You got it! Ah, that’s rad. Sorry I wasn’t of more help—shoot, I’m still at a loss for how I’ll tow out to NOLA in a couple weeks. It’s a little beyond where most press cars wanna go.

Kudos to both of you for saving the old gals! Looking forward to more posts! :D
Hope TTyymmnn enjoyed his longer-than-expected endeavors with you, regardless! :)

Awesome! That car deserves a better fate than the crusher. Hope Ttyymmnn is getting a lot of rest today and his back is feeling good!

I’m glad you were able to get it (it seems) - I look forward to some more details once you’ve had time to recover!

Back is actually not as bad as I feared it might be. About the same as it was when we started. I’ve got other pains, though, like my legs. There was an awful log of pushing involved with this project. I’m going to make a post about it today or tomorrow.

Good! BTW, is that the 2nd car you dug out, in the background on the right (rust colored wagon)?
Both of those cars look to be very much worth saving, glad it worked out!

Yes. The back one had three flat tires and was stick in a rut. Now, imagine trying to get that on a trailer, and you’ll understand why we spent over 9 hours on this job.

That does not sound like fun, and I presume this was all manual, no winch, too?
Anyhow, hope today is more relaxing- you deserve it!

We got the first one up using my Odyssey to push it. We got the second up with a combination of the Odyssey, ratchet straps and brute strength. What we really needed was a flatbed and a proper winch.

Yes. Something like that would have made our lives significantly easier.

I want to make the 96 into a Baja Saab. The 95 I’ll be selling.

I have a cheap one that I think I bought for $20, easily 10 years ago. I’ve repaired it a few times, but it’s been worth its weight in gold.
